New Australian Immigration Policy Not Targeting the Indians

According to the latest Australian immigration news with the recent crisis regarding the Australian immigration and as their immigration rules toughen bringing down the list of professions which qualify for immigration from 400 to 181, the Australian High Commissioner to India Peter Verghese tries to justify their skilled migration program in the context of the labour market policy of Australia. He explains that we want to shift it from a supply driven scheme to a demand driven scheme. He also declares that Australia's policy towards foreign students studying in Australia has not changed as the government is not putting any limit or quota on those courses and they are free to join any course in Australia in accordance to their best interests. Peter Verghese also reassured the international students in Australia regarding making available to them transitional arrangements till the end of their courses including a further 18 months work experience.
